5 Best Places to visit in Taipei

I've been to Taiwan 4 times :)

Hope these tips helps in planning your itinerary!

Taiwan is the country I've been to the most 

Love this place a lot especially the culture

I will blog about 5 Places in Taipei that i feel its really worth to visit or a must visit!!

I Will try to recommend those not too touristy place!

1. Jiufen, Shifen, Keelung Miaokou Nigt Market

九份, 十分, 基隆廟口夜市

These Places are situated North-east of Taipei, abit outside of the city area

You can get there by Bus or Private cab

Personally i feel that taking bus there is kind of troublesome and might be crowded.

Therefore i would highly recommend to book a private cab and visit places around there too.

A good itinerary can be:

Yeliu Geopark 野柳地质公园 NT50 - ShiFen 十分 - Jiufen 九份 - Golden Waterfalls 黃金瀑布/ Jinguashi Gold Ecological Park 金瓜石 - Yin Yang Hai 陰陽海 - Nanya Rock Formation 南雅奇石 - KeeLung 基隆 -MiaoKou Night Market (廟口夜市)

Average Itinerary can be:
猴硐貓村 Houtong cat Village，九份老街 Jiufen，ShiFen 十分, 基隆廟口 Keelung MiaoKou Night Market

Food In Jiufen

I will always go to the fish ball store which sells different type of fish balls and soup

taste great especially in cold weather

Another famous food is the yam peanut ice cream roll

its really really delicious

Other than the food mentioned, you may also want to enjoy the scenery of Jiufen and have a afternoon there as there are many tea houses around the area.

Shifen

This place is famous for its Sky Lantern or 放天燈

while writing your wishes on the sky lantern, you might even get to see the train passing by right in front of you!
But do remember to give move to the side and give way to the oncoming train though~

great experience!

Keelung Night Market

This night market is famous for seafood!

since its located near keelung port therefore seafood are fresh here but prices wise its more expensive than other night market due to this is more to a Tourist Night Market

2. Yong Kang Street 永康街

Conveniently located @DongMen station MRT exit 5

Theres alot of food and Cafes here

Moreover, you can see Taipei 101 from the road side!!

great view!!

Along the street you may see this Taiwan Shaved ice shop which is quite famous

Didn't try as its too cold when i went there. (don't like to get too cold)

And also the Cong Zhua bing (蔥抓餅)!! This store is very famous!

tried it and taste really good! But do prepare to queue too.

And not to forget, there is a Ding tai feng (鼎泰豐) along the street

but its always long queue here so do prepare to queue for some time too if you want to try.

Alternatively for shorter queue of Ding Tai feng, you can visit Taipei 101 store.

3. Elephant Hill 象山

Visit this place if you want to have a awesome view of Taipei 101!

And it a free too!

But do prepare to climb lots of steps up to have a good view and prepare some insect repellent too especially if you are going there during rainy season or summer period.

You might want to catch sunset here!

 To get there, just alight @ Xiang Shan MRT Station (Red line)

4. Danshui old street, 淡水老街

I find this place quite interesting though

Nearby you may visit :

Museum of the strange in danshui -  Danshui old street 淡水老街 - fisherman’s wharf 淡水漁人碼頭情人橋 [sunset] 

Museum of the strange is located in Danshui old street.

cheap and still kinda worth to go and take a look..

Theres a lot of street food at the Old street.

Just buy, walk and eat at the same time :D

Opposite is Ba Li 

After that you may take a ferry over to Danshui Fisherman Wharf for sunset

 Sunset in Danshui is beautiful

But it might get really cold in winter as its really windy here.

After that you might even want to drop by Shihlin Night Market for some more food on the way back to Taipei Main station area.

but it might get really crowded as this is a famous tourist night market.

5. Beitou 北投

For Hot spring!!!

If you want you can stay a night here at their hot spring hotel.

at the same time, do visit Thermal Valley, Beitou Hotspring Museum too!

To experience the hotspring!!

To get here, Simply take the MRT To Beitou Station then Transfer to XinBeitou.
